Generally speaking, Rescue products have been successfully used in aquatic settings, though we always recommend rinsing any equipment that will be placed in water. Although hydrogen peroxide (the active ingredient in Rescue) breaks down to water and oxygen post-disinfection, there are also surfactants (detergents) in the formula, which allow Rescue to clean and disinfect in one step. These surfactants may leave a residue behind on surfaces, and although non-hazardous, could be released into the water of aquatic enclosures if not rinsed prior.
