Will the pH of Rescue® Disinfectant Damage Our Floors?
While concerns about floor damage or surface corrosion are common with any disinfectant, either acidic or alkaline, Rescue® has been tested and has shown excellent compatibility with most hard, non-porous surfaces, including many common flooring materials.
Rescue® Disinfectants, powered by Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide® (AHP®), have a pH range of approximately 2.5 to 3.0.
There are certain application tips that may be used to mitigate potential issues with material compatibility, such as avoiding oversaturation of surfaces, and rinsing the surface with a damp cloth after the required contact time has elapsed. This will prevent over-exposure of the surface to the disinfectant, reducing the risk of accelerated wear and tear.
We always recommend consulting with the manufacturer of the material and following their cleaning & disinfection recommendations, especially in cases where it may void warranties.
Additionally, we always recommend conducting a compatibility spot test on your floor, before proceeding with a full application.
