How Long Does a Surface Remain Disinfected After Using Rescue® Disinfectants?
Once a surface or item has been properly disinfected with Rescue® Disinfectants, it is considered disinfected until recontamination occurs. Recontamination can happen in several ways, such as:
- Reuse of the item, bringing it into direct contact with animals or people.
- Exposure to contaminated fluids (e.g., from sneezing or coughing near the surface).
In these cases, the previously disinfected surface is no longer guaranteed to be free from pathogens and should be disinfected again.
From an infection control perspective, a single application of Rescue is sufficient to render the surface disinfected until it is recontaminated. However, best practices may vary depending on the facility's protocols and intended use of the surface or item.
